Speedflex appoints new director of sales: Amy Ritson
Speedflex, the global leader in high-intensity, low-impact training, has announced the appointment of Amy Ritson as its new director of sales, strengthening its commercial leadership team as the brand continues to expand into new and existing markets.
Amy joins Speedflex in March from Independent Gyms, where she established herself as a highly respected and influential figure within the fitness sector. Known for her ability to connect operators, suppliers, and service providers, Amy has helped brands engage meaningfully with the independent gym market through well-designed partnerships, influential events, and direct, confident communication and she brings a unique blend of commercial insight, operational experience, and first hand industry knowledge to the role.
Amy Ritson, director of sales at Speedflex, said: ‘I’m really excited to be joining Speedflex, it’s a brand with a strong community and a truly unique product that delivers for both operators and members. Having spent years on the operator side, I know how important it is to work with partners who truly understand your business - and that’s what Speedflex does brilliantly. As a completely inclusive product it’s perfect for every facility from premium boutique gyms to large operators, and the leisure industry like hotels and spas. I can’t wait to get started and help take the brand to the next level’.
Amy’s career spans gym operations, partnerships, commercial strategy, and brand development. Most notably, Amy spent six years owning and operating her own independent gym, giving her a practical, ground-level understanding of the realities faced by operators and what it takes to build and sustain a successful fitness business in an increasingly competitive market.
Alongside her experience as an operator, Amy has held senior roles with Fitness First, Cannons Health Club (now Nuffield Health), and Sky Sports. Across these positions, she developed a strong understanding of how operators and suppliers can work together effectively, supported by a solid foundation in marketing and communications that includes media relations, event production, content creation, and on-stage presenting within commercial environments.
Commenting on the appointment, Paul Ferris, founder and CEO of Speedflex, said: ‘Amy will be an exceptional addition to the Speedflex team. She understands this industry from every angle - as an operator, a commercial leader, and a trusted partner to gyms. As we continue to grow as a brand, her experience, energy and connections within the industry will be a game changer. I’m incredibly excited to have Amy on board to help drive our growth at home and abroad.’
In her new role, Amy will lead Speedflex’s sales strategy, supporting the brand’s continued growth, working closely with existing partners and building new relationships with operators to expand the brand’s global reach.

We’re proud to have such an inclusive fitness competition which represents our whole member demographic and fitness ethos.”

The workout is both safe and inclusive which makes it the perfect fit for our diverse range of customers. Our guests can now enjoy a revolutionary fitness experience during their stay, reaffirming our commitment to offering the best amenities and services at The QHotels Collection."
– Keith Pickard, group director of golf, health club and spa, The QHotels Collection
Many operators have machines which are challenging for certain demographics of our community to use, least of all our seniors! But Speedflex is different. I have seen customers approach it for the first time, play on the screen and easily start a workout, and better still, they say their joints didn't hurt either.
Whilst many operators would put two units next to a rig, we have one in an open space and another in a quiet space; more private, less on show. It’s this unit the majority of individual users go to. Yes, the studio classes are better for having one but don’t rule out having one as part of your special populations area too.
I was surprised how well Speedflex sits in both camps. HIIT Without the HURT, perfect for classes and studio but equally as good for seniors to do those all-important compound movements; Osteoporosis fighting, strength training. Riskfree."
