PRESS RELEASE
Myzone Go expands operator opportunity with Garmin integration
20 Jul 2026
Garmin integration / Myzone
Myzone has announced a significant expansion of its MoTech (Motivation Technology) platform, as Myzone Go integration with Garmin goes live. With access already available to Apple and Android users, this latest integration opens seamless access to Myzone’s ecosystem for millions more people around the world.
For operators, the development represents a significant opportunity, bringing previously disconnected, high-value members into their Myzone ecosystem without requiring any additional investment in hardware or operational resource.
Garmin users, typically runners, cyclists and endurance-focused athletes, are some of the most committed and consistent members in any facility. Until now, they have been unable to take part in Myzone challenges, earn Myzone Effort Points (MEPs) or engage with in-club leaderboards.
“With Myzone Go now compatible with Garmin, operators can extend their community to some of the most engaged segments of the fitness market,” said Vahid B. Zadeh, chief technology officer at Myzone. “Garmin-owning members have already bought into tracking their performance but were previously excluded from the Myzone ecosystem. This integration closes that gap, giving operators access to a previously untapped group of high-frequency members and meeting Garmin users on the devices they already trust.”
Market research shows that Garmin is the third most owned heart rate monitoring platform among active users, while almost half of Garmin users own multiple fitness devices, making them one of the most engaged and committed segments in the market.*
Myzone is designed to drive long-term exercise adherence through behavioural science. By measuring effort rather than output and rewarding consistency through MEPs, the platform creates a feedback loop that reinforces positive habits over time.
With Garmin integration, that behavioural framework now extends to a broader proportion of operators' membership, particularly those already demonstrating high levels of commitment. More members participating in the Myzone ecosystem means greater engagement in challenges, leaderboards and community activity, strengthening the social connections that underpin long-term member retention.
Importantly for operators, members connect their own Garmin device directly through Myzone Go, with workouts syncing automatically. There is no additional hardware to purchase, no manual administration and no operational burden for operators. Once connected people can immediately start taking part in challenges, appearing on leaderboards and contributing to the wider community.
Every workout, whether in-gym or outdoors, is captured and translated into effort, ensuring consistency in recognition across all activity types. Members see their progress, maintain streaks and engage in shared challenges that keep them connected to both their goals and their community.
To support operator adoption, Myzone is also providing a comprehensive marketing toolkit, including digital assets, social content, in-club promotional materials and campaign resources to help facilities encourage Garmin users to connect and participate from launch.

“Myzone’s not just a flashy screen. It’s motivation technology, community and a social platform working together to keep people engaged long term.
“There is clear correlation between high Myzone engagement and strong coaching participation. It also creates stronger retention because members feel part of a community and have that extra layer of accountability that keeps them coming back.”
– Donald DesPierre III, fitness manager, Anytime Fitness Clubs

“We decided that we’d give every member a Myzone belt on joining and that it was an integral part of our ‘Thrive Welcome Process’. We did this because it was 100% in-line with our vision of helping more people be active and feel good.
“At Thrive, we use Myzone during every session to help effectively coach our members to get the most out of the session. That doesn’t mean always pushing, but rather educating effort levels and helping with recovery. It helps members understand how to effectively train for different types of sessions from personal training to our fitness classes.”
– Jon Kohn, co-founder, Thrive Gyms

“When people understand effort, it makes all the difference. When you say eight out of 10 to 30 people, every individual’s effort is different. When you learn about your own effort, you start to feel it in your body.
“That’s why I love using Myzone. We're also seeing our David Lloyd gym members using Myzone in the Pilates Reformer studio, too. Reformer is harder than it looks, and people are starting to see the benefits of a heart rate monitor within a wide variety of fitness training genres.
“We’ll all never go without it. I’ve got to get my MEPs!”
