PRESS RELEASE

Speedflex success at Cavan Leisure

07 Nov 2025
Cavan Leisure / Speedflex
The team at Cavan Leisure prides itself on offering programmes that are accessible and inclusive to all of its members and in 2024 they received funding to expand and enhance their gym facilities so its community could benefit from access to the latest equipment and technology. With Speedflex Blades in place, Cavan Leisure has taken that commitment to the next level - creating a space that empowers people of all ages and abilities to achieve their fitness goals whilst simultaneously strengthening its community.

Currently, Cavan Leisure operates two Speedflex Blades on the main gym floor and two more in a private studio downstairs, giving members the flexibility to train in both group and individual settings. The Blades have also been seamlessly incorporated into ‘Spin and Speedflex’ sessions, as well as into circuit classes wherein traditional equipment is combined with the Blades to deliver exceptional workouts. These sessions are consistently popular amongst their members and are always in high demand.

Ann Coyle, Manager at Cavan Regional Health Sport & Leisure Centre, explains: “Speedflex has given us something unique - a machine that is truly for everyone. We’ve been able to offer programmes that suit all ages and abilities, and it has opened the door for people who might never have considered joining before. This has helped us not only grow our membership but also create a real community where everyone feels welcome.”

The versatility of Speedflex has allowed Cavan Leisure to both attract and appeal to a more diverse membership base. From everyday gym-goers seeking a quick and effective high-intensity workout, to members with specific health needs such as multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease, Speedflex has proven to be a safe, effective and enjoyable solution. One member with MS has found incredible benefits of using the Blade, calling it both accessible and empowering.

Fintan Creamer, Senior Team Leader, adds: “The Blades are unlike anything else we have. People now come in just for the Blade workouts, and many of our members have begun to add it into their regular routines. It takes pressure off our team on the gym floor as each workout is led by an on-screen trainer, and has given our members independence and confidence in their training.”

Since introducing Speedflex into their training offering the results have been remarkable, with the centre experiencing a surge in both member satisfaction and membership growth, with an increase from 200 in April to an impressive 743 today. With these numbers it’s no surprise that Cavan Leisure are hoping to expand their Speedflex offering, with ambitions to scale up to 8-10 Blades and further explore its programmes with a particular focus on low-intensity programmes that focus on movement quality and strength building in a safe and supportive environment for its older members.

Speedflex has loved working with Cavan Leisure, with Paul Ferris, Co-Founder and CEO at Speedflex commenting: “It’s fantastic to see how Speedflex has been embraced at Cavan Leisure. The way that Ann, Fintan and the team have integrated the Blades into classes and programming is a perfect example of how operators can use Speedflex to engage members of all ages and abilities. It’s stories like these that prove Speedflex is not just a smart investment for gyms, but a tool that can genuinely change lives.”

Speedflex are excited to continue their relationship with Cavan Leisure and be a part of their journey towards providing more accessible and inclusive workout opportunities for its members - all made possible with the HIIT Without The Hurt technology of the Speedflex Blades.

"Jubilee Hall Trust has been pleasantly surprised with the Speedflex units. Not because of how good they are, the ease of use and the smoothness of movement - we knew they were good! We were surprised by how many of our senior customers used it, intuitively and without prompt.
Many operators have machines which are challenging for certain demographics of our community to use, least of all our seniors! But Speedflex is different. I have seen customers approach it for the first time, play on the screen and easily start a workout, and better still, they say their joints didn't hurt either.
Whilst many operators would put two units next to a rig, we have one in an open space and another in a quiet space; more private, less on show. It’s this unit the majority of individual users go to. Yes, the studio classes are better for having one but don’t rule out having one as part of your special populations area too.
I was surprised how well Speedflex sits in both camps. HIIT Without the HURT, perfect for classes and studio but equally as good for seniors to do those all-important compound movements; Osteoporosis fighting, strength training. Riskfree."

– Jon Giles, chief executive, Jubilee Hall Trust
