Spa for Slovakian mountain resort
The luxury Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras will open near the top of Slovakia’s Tatras Mountain range in March 2009.
Developed by Slovakian estate company J&T Real Estate, the lakeside resort will have 118 bedrooms, including five suites and two chalets. It has been built within existing 19th and 20th century buildings with modern extensions.
The property will also boast extensive spa facilities. Covering 13,993sq ft (1,300sq m), the spa has seven treatment rooms, including one VIP suite, while there will be traditional ayurvedic massages on offer with an Indian therapist. Thalgo and one other spa brand will be used for treatments.
The wellness centre also offers a swimming pool, steamrooms, whirlpools, a gym and aerobic classes. The resort is set in the picturesque village of Strbske Pleso, near the top of the Tatras Mountain range, which is famed for its climate, which can aid the treatment of respiratory diseases.
There will also be a restaurant, a café, lobby bar and a boutique as well as meeting facilities. Details: kempinski.com
