Mountbatten Leisure Centre, Portsmouth / Precor

Alongside Precor, BH Live, the registered charity and social enterprise operating sport and leisure facilities across southern England, has completed a major refurbishment of the gym at Mountbatten Leisure Centre in Portsmouth as a part of a £750,000 investment to modernise leisure facilities across the city.

A gym built around the exerciser

The redesigned facility was developed in close collaboration with Precor, combining expert design consultancy with a full equipment fit-out. The result is a spacious, clearly zoned gym environment with dedicated areas for strength, cardio, functional fitness, recovery, physio and wellness, designed to serve exercisers of all ages and abilities.

Strength and functional training continues to grow

To meet growing demand for strength training, the gym features an extensive selection of Precor selectorised and plate-loaded machines, alongside an eight-stack Resolute Multi-Station for total-body workouts. The facility also includes the Glutebuilder range which is engineered with precision biomechanics and optimised motion paths to effectively target the glutes, hips and legs.

A refreshed cardio zone

The cardio floor features Precor Treadmills, Ellipticals, Upright and Recumbent Bikes, StairClimbers and Adaptive Motion Trainers (AMTs). The AMT's Open Stride technology allows exercisers to continuously adjust their stride length and height, engaging multiple muscle groups within a single workout. Precor treadmills feature patented Integrated Footplant Technology, automatically adapting belt speed to each user's natural gait for a more comfortable, effective run.

Cardio equipment is paired with P84 and P94 touchscreen consoles featuring PrecorCast, allowing members to connect their phones and stream their preferred apps directly onto 16- or 22-inch HD screens.

Peloton bring connected fitness to the gym

A dedicated Peloton area houses three Peloton Bike+ Pros, giving gym members access to Peloton's world-class library of exclusive content and a comprehensive suite of performance metrics to track and drive their progress.

Personalised strength with EGYM

The gym also features EGYM's connected strength solution, fully integrated with Precor's cardio equipment to deliver a seamless, personalised workout experience across the floor.
