Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts (MH&R) is increasing its portfolio by 30 properties (2,700 rooms) by expanding into Asia.
The expansion includes management contracts for new hotels in Istanbul and Bodrum in Turkey; Kuwait; Mecca, Riyadh, Buraydah and Yanbu in Saudi Arabia; and the Greek island of Crete.
Mövenpick has also signed a management agreement for a new business hotel in Bangalore – its first property on the Indian subcontinent.
CEO Jean Gabriel Pérès said: “We are proud that we have taken our first steps into the Indian and Asian regions. Alongside our core markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, we are looking at expanding further towards the Far East.”
