Contractual hours: 37 per week
About you
You are a diligent, results-driven professional with a passion for operational excellence. With a proven track record of working towards ambitious KPI targets, you possess a keen understanding of all financial aspects of managing a leisure centre. Your experience in liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders, from senior management to the public, speaks volumes of your strong communication and interpersonal skills.
About the role
Your responsibilities include:
• Leadership & Operations: Provide impeccable leadership to the centre teams on a day-to-day basis. Ensure the centres operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all relevant policies, processes, and procedures.
• Financial Management: Prepare the annual budget with the General Manager, manage and monitor said budget, and address any financial discrepancies.
• Planning & Strategy: Support the development and execution of centre business plans and KPIs. Work closely with the centre team to offer a balanced programme of activities that meet both financial objectives and community needs.
• Staff Management: Ensure an effective staffing structure, oversee staff deployment, and conduct performance reviews to ensure consistent high standards.
• Customer Service: Address escalated customer comments and complaints professionally, ensuring a pleasant and safe environment for all visitors.
• Security & Maintenance: Oversee the opening, closing, and security of the centres. Ensure centres are maintained to the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and operational effectiveness.
• Continuous Learning: Attend relevant training sessions and be available for call-outs when needed.
About the team
You will be joining a dedicated team, liaising closely with the General Manager, Duty Manager Team, and various Centre teams. The role also involves interaction with other Council officers, councillors, contractors, and members of the public. As Centre Manager, your leadership will be pivotal in ensuring that the centre teams are informed, involved, and inspired to achieve the Council’s aims and objectives.
