Beach House to become Waldorf Astoria
US-based Hilton Hotels will add the first Asia Pacific-based property to its Waldorf Astoria portfolio later this year.
The Beach House, a 35-acre resort comprising 83 villas located at the northern tip of the Maldives, will join Hilton’s luxury collection on 1 November 2009.
Owned by Sun Hotels & Resorts, the Beach House has been open for a year and facilities include three restaurants, four bars and a luxurious spa called Shui. Each villa also comes complete with a private pool and butler.
The spa has 10 treatment rooms and each room offers an outdoor courtyard, rain shower and flower bath.
There are also two Grand Beach Pavilions, where guests can have treatments within a private spa facility.
Treatments are supplied by Pevonia Botanica and include Ayurvedic therapy and consultations, massages, body wraps, facials and skin scrubs. Shui also offers specialized yoga and meditation sessions.
