What we can do for you
Physical Company’s mission statement is ‘First for Fitness Solutions’ – a statement that reflects the dramatic change we’re witnessing in the way people choose to train. With ever larger spaces being allocated to free weights, group exercise, functional and small group training, our expertise has come to the fore: we specialise in everything today’s workout spaces should be built around. Hence ‘First for Fitness Solutions’ – because however large or small your space, we should be your first call.

Key products and services
Physical Company supplies over 1,900 product lines, from commercial strength to studio equipment, functional training to mind-body, flooring to combat to cardio and far more besides – all supported with extensive training and great quality customer service.

Our Physical-branded range is all about good value, high quality. Complementing this is a series of partnerships with best-in-class manufacturers: the likes of BOSU, AIREX and ZIVA. We also cherry-pick innovative equipment that brings something unique to market: Merrithew™ Pilates reformers and Ecore Athletic performance flooring to name but a few.

Our approach ensures we can provide a product range to suit every budget, from price-led all the way through to premium.

case study: KOBOX - London
Physical Company worked with KOBOX , the London based boutique boxing studio, to assist the kit-out install ahead of launch. This case study looks at how Physical Company became the one-stop shop for all of the functional training kit as well as advising, sourcing and customising fit-for-purpose flooring.

Shane Collins, Founder of London KOBOX boutique boxing studios, had a vision to combine high intensity boxing-based classes with functional strength training in a ‘Fight Cub meets Nightclub’ environment. Taking real life authentic boxing training principles and making it accessible to the group fitness community.

The strategy of the studio space was created by Shane who drew upon his background in work as a strength and conditioning coach to professional boxers. Having visited Physical Company to enquire about HD resistance bands, Shane left having sourced all of his functional equipment and flooring. This project required a fast turnaround and customised advice to ensure the equipment could endure the impact of KOBOX workouts whilst also being quick to clean and easy to keep in good condition.

"It’s so easy working with Physical Company; it’s a one-stop shop for the majority of equipment we need. Their pricing is as good as it gets and the equipment is of the highest quality. There are lots of choices out there but I haven’t found anybody who beats the Physical Company service."
Shane Collins – Founder of KOBOX

The result is a visually impressive, bespoke, multi-functional space that looks and feels as professional as the training ethic delivered within it but also as inviting and engaging as the cool and sophisticated ‘night club’ atmosphere the team were wanting to portray. The site fully represents everything Shane had envisioned for KOBOX and members are met with a high energy, but highly enjoyable workout atmosphere.
case study: GOOD220 - Personal Trainer
Personal trainer Lynsey Goodyear, founder of PT business GOOD220, approached Physical Company for a range of high quality equipment that would give her fledgling business a competitive edge.

A former secondary school PE teacher, Lynsey was looking to translate her passion for sport and teaching into a new arena. Keen to be her own boss, she jumped straight in to running her own PT business. Her goal: to give people their workout mojo back, changing their perspective on exercise, helping them realise it can be fun and encouraging them to focus on how it makes them feel – their physical health and the mental feelgood factor.

Physical Company was able to offer highly personalised advice based on Lynsey’s plans for her new business. “I genuinely felt Physical had my interests at heart, rather than simply trying to make a sale,” she says.

She has now invested in a wide range of Physical equipment – from dumbbells, barbells, slam-balls and Olympic weights to Reax Kettlebells and Fluiballs, Wreckbags, Surge Riptides and battle ropes – and credits this with putting her business ahead of the game.

“Physical Company’s fantastic equipment has given me a great USP in my local area, helping me bring something new to every workout,” says Lynsey. “I launched my business just as COVID-19 arrived, but I’m happy to say – even just a few months later, as we emerge from lockdown – I’m already incredibly busy with 1-to-1 clients, bootcamps and online classes.

“Physical Company has played a big role in that. I genuinely believe I wouldn’t have been as successful without its help, advice and high quality equipment.”
case study: The Marlow Club
When The Marlow Club in Buckinghamshire decided to add a premium standalone yoga and Pilates studio to its offering, Physical Company was appointed as supplier partner, thanks to the company’s ability to deliver an end-to-end equipment solution.

PilaYoga offers a fully immersive mind-body experience, enabling members to disappear into a world of tranquillity and calm, completely cut off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The beautifully designed studio is an extension of The Marlow Club, with the benefit of a dedicated entrance, allowing it to operate as a standalone facility with its own identity and membership. In addition to a large studio, which hosts a full timetable of mat-based yoga and Pilates classes, PilaYoga also incorporates a second studio, dedicated to reformer Pilates.

“Over the last few years there’s been a steady increase in the demand for a more holistic fitness and wellbeing offer,” says Jon Williams, COO at the Marlow Club. “PilaYoga is our response to this. In order to deliver the high-end look and feel we were after, it was really important that the equipment we chose matched the quality of the design and finish.

“Physical Company has been operating for 30 years and has developed a reputation for the provision of highquality products and great service. The fact that the company was also able to offer a full equipment solution, from Pilates reformers to studio accessories, meant the partnership made total sense.”

Physical Company has supplied four Merrithew reformers for a dedicated studio. Williams says: “Merrithew is a global leader in mind-body education and equipment. Just last year, Physical Company extended its partnership with Merrithew and became an official distributor of its reformer range, adding to a long-term partnership that had seen the company distributing its comprehensive accessory range. This was perfect timing for us.

“The decision to offer reformer Pilates meant a significant investment for us and not one we could afford to get wrong. I’m pleased to say that the decision to go with the Merrithew brand has been absolutely the right one. Physical Company installed on time, at short notice, ensuring all four beds were in situ and fully functional in time for our VIP launch. The company has also supplied a range of accessories, including Merrithew™ stability barres, pilates power rings, Airex mats, foam rollers and weighted pilates balls."

Williams adds: “The high-quality accessories beautifully complement the quality of the design and build. Physical Company has been able to supply everything we need within our specified budget, offering great service and value.”

Mind-body is a core product category in the Physical Company portfolio. John Halls, managing director, says: “With yoga inching its way up the ACSM fitness trends table, we anticipate a growing demand for a more holistic approach to fitness. We’re very proud of the fact that we offer a full mind-body studio solution. PilaYoga is a beautiful example of how we can provide a one stop holistic solution that oozes quality and style.”
