Weight training, cardio, Hyrox preparation, group classes and powerlifting all come together at Fitness Park Malakoff, a modern, spacious facility built for members who train with purpose.
With premium equipment, dedicated functional training areas and a purpose-built Hyrox zone, the club gives every athlete what they need to perform at their best in an environment that matches their ambition.
Designed around performance
The Malakoff site was built to accommodate every style of training, from general fitness to competitive preparation. Members have access to high-end strength and cardio equipment, functional training and group class spaces, and a dedicated Hyrox zone, with each element selected to maximise durability, functionality and training flow.
The Vision
BLK BOX was briefed to design and install a dedicated Hyrox training zone that would allow athletes to prepare using the same movement patterns and demands found on race day. Fitness Park wanted to create a high-performance environment where members could train with real intent, whether they are lining up for their first Hyrox event or building a serious strength base.
The Facility
At the heart of the space sits a custom 5 Series Nexus Rig, configured to support pull-ups, gymnastics, squatting, cable work and accessory movements. Basecamp storage solutions, custom branded lifting platforms and a range of specialist attachments complete the setup, adding versatility without compromising on flow.
Key features include:
- Custom BLK BOX branded lifting platforms
- Handstand push-up boards and wall ball targets
- Dip stations and spotting arms
- Landmine and single-leg squat attachments
- Integrated storage systems
- Together, these components create a highly efficient training environment that supports structured programming and open gym use in equal measure.
Competition-Ready Equipment
To replicate the demands of Hyrox, the facility was equipped with a full range of free weights and conditioning tools, giving members the ability to train every major race movement with the specificity and intensity required on competition day.
The equipment lineup includes:
- BLK BOX Belfast Bars and HD Bumper Plates
- Rubber Hex Dumbbells and Competition Kettlebells
- Wall Balls, Slam Balls and Competition Sandbags
- Competition Sleds and Competition Ropes
- Plyo boxes, Battle Ropes and Climbing Ropes
- Wooden gym Rings and a Glute Ham Developer
- Additional benches, cable attachments and integrated storage keep the space organised and easy to navigate throughout the day.
The Outcome
The completed build at Fitness Park Malakoff delivers a premium training environment where members can build strength, develop conditioning and prepare for competition with confidence.

When Aberdeen Sports Village set out to upgrade its gym offering, the goal was to create a

When brothers Patrick and Kevin first approached BLK BOX, they had a vision and an unusual
