PRESS RELEASE

Innerva and Gym Upholstery UK celebrate successful partnership

21 Apr 2026
Dean Boyle, director, Gym Upholstery and Jon Hymus, MD, Innerva / Innerva
Innerva is celebrating the first anniversary of its successful partnership with Gym Upholstery UK. The collaboration brings together two British companies committed to quality, innovation and making a difference to people’s health and wellbeing.

With both companies based in the north of England, the partnership benefits from close collaboration and fast response times to ensure high standards and reliable supply for Innerva’s expanding customer base across the world.

Over the last 12 months, Gym Upholstery UK has invested significant time, resources and expertise to support Innerva’s continued growth. This includes the recent investment in a state-of-the-art CNC fabric cutting and pattern-drawing machine, valued at £120,000. The new technology improves efficiency to ensure that Innerva can meet increasing demand for its power-assisted exercise equipment.

Jon Hymus, managing director at Innerva, says: “We’re delighted to celebrate this successful partnership with Gym Upholstery UK, which has been transformational for our business. Without their investment in new technology, we simply wouldn’t have been able to keep up with demand. We look forward to a long and successful partnership with Dean and the team as we continue to grow.”

Launched 25 years ago, Gym Upholstery UK is one of only two specialist companies serving the UK market. Upholstery represents just five per cent of the gym servicing market, yet it plays a critical role in hygiene, safety and the durability of equipment, especially in a post-COVID world. Gym Upholstery UK works with operators and servicing companies to ensure gym equipment is hygienic, safe and fit for purpose.

Dean Boyle, director at Gym Upholstery UK, says: “We’re incredibly proud to be working with Innerva, a company that is genuinely making a difference to individuals worldwide, not only in health and fitness, but also in medical and rehabilitation environments where quality and reliability truly matter.”

Key customers
Our key customers span leisure (leisure trusts, council, independent and private operators), rehabilitation and therapy centres and care.
Plans for the next 12 months
We continue to develop our solution to support active and healthy ageing, working with our health, academic and operator partners to meet the needs of those with long-term health conditions and bridge the gap between fitness and health.

This year will see the launch of our new digital solution, and working with the University of Strathclyde, we will roll out the technology enriched rehabilitation offer for stroke patients and those affected by neurological conditions.

Our continued international expansion will give the world’s ageing population an accessible exercise solution to improve physical and mental health.
