PRESS RELEASE
Fourth Hello GoodLife Health & Wellbeing Hub opens in Ireland
13 Apr 2026
Martina Calvey, co-founder of Hello GoodLife Health & Wellbeing / Hello GoodLife Health & Wellbeing
The fourth Hello GoodLife Health & Wellbeing Hub has opened in Ireland to meet increasing demand for accessible, community-focused health and wellbeing solutions.
Founded by business woman Martina Calvey and her partner Seamus Davitt to roll out Innerva’s power assisted exercise solution across Ireland, Hello GoodLife is working with independent operators and community organisations to establish a network of Health & Wellbeing Hubs.
The newest site in Newport, County Mayo offers a welcoming, non-intimidating environment, particularly suited to older adults, people living with chronic conditions, those recovering from illness or injury and individuals who may feel excluded by traditional gym settings. Equipped with the Innerva solution, the model is designed to improve strength, mobility, balance and cardiovascular health, while also supporting mental wellbeing and social connection.
The Hello GoodLife model is inspired by Calvey’s own health challenges, which excluded her from mainstream gyms and fitness centres.
She says: “The Hello GoodLife model is addressing a gap in health and wellbeing. The hubs meet the needs of real people and anyone who doesn’t feel at home in a traditional gym - and that’s a lot of people. They also tackle social isolation. We hear countless stories of how the hubs have become a lifeline, particularly for people coping with bereavement or loss.”
The Newport site follows the success of three existing hubs. The Castlebar hub, opened in 2024 at Castle Leisure Club, Co. Mayo, attracting almost 500 members within its first three months, with some still travelling over an hour each way to attend.
The Bunninadden hub, which opened in May 2025 at Ballinalack Community Park, Co. Sligo, operates as a social enterprise. Part funded by the LEADER rural development programme, it also features two wheelchair-accessible Innerva units and serves close to 500 members, many living with conditions such as Parkinson’s, MS and arthritis.
The third hub, at Roscommon Fitness Zone, launched in July 2025 The multi‑function destination offers inter-generational activities from a children’s play area and bowling alley to a full gym and now the new Hub. The O’Connor family plan to replicate this model in other locations, creating vibrant spaces that serve people of all ages across the region
Jon Hymus, Managing Director, Innerva, says: “The success of Hello GoodLife hubs in Mayo, Sligo and Roscommon shows there is unmet demand for inclusive, community-focused health and wellbeing solutions in Ireland. We are excited to see the model expand to other counties, so that even more communities can enjoy the physical, mental and social benefits of power assisted exercise.”
Hello GoodLife Ireland is currently selecting partners for the continued expansion, growing network and next stage of a national roll out positioning Hello GoodLife Ireland as the go-to healthy ageing solution for providers who want to serve the fastest growing demographic in the country. The pipeline includes sites in Belfast Cork Dublin and Galway. This gives gyms, leisure centres and community facilities a viable and structured way to enter the healthy ageing market with confidence. Hello GoodLife Ireland is also exploring pathways with community organisations including the G.A.A and commercial enterprises to expand its model and power-assisted exercise across the country.
