PRESS RELEASE

Future Fit Group commits to age-inclusive hiring with age-friendly employer pledge

18 Mar 2026
Future Fit Group signs the Age-friendly Employer Pledge / Centre for Ageing Better

Future Fit Group has signed the Age-friendly Employer Pledge, a nationwide programme run by the Centre for Ageing Better to make workplaces age-friendly.

The Age-friendly Employer Pledge is a commitment by UK employers who acknowledge the value of older workers and aim to create a more age-inclusive workplace. With skills and labour shortages continuing to challenge employers across the country and increasing numbers of people choosing to work later in life, the need for age-inclusive hiring has never been greater. Yet, older workers continue to face prejudice and are too often overlooked during the recruitment process; a loss not just for individuals, but for the organisations missing out on their expertise.

As a provider of education across the health, fitness and wellbeing sector, Future Fit Group believes inclusive workplaces strengthen both the workforce and the communities they serve. Therefore, they are taking action to improve the recruitment, retention, and development of workers aged 50 and over. By drawing from a wider pool of applicants, this ensures older workers can continue to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the organisation.

“Signing the Age-friendly Employer Pledge reflects our belief that age should never be a barrier to opportunity. We see the experience and value older workers bring, and this pledge strengthens our commitment to recognising the strengths each person contributes and ensuring our people feel valued, respected, and able to thrive.” - Megan Yorke, chief administrative officer, Future Fit Group

This commitment sits within Future Fit Group's broader mission to champion healthy ageing and lifelong wellbeing. Through evidence-based programmes, professional education and partnerships with health and care providers, Future Fit Group is actively reshaping how people age, ensuring older adults are not just supported, but equipped to lead fuller, more active lives. Building an age-inclusive workforce is a natural progression of that mission, one that Future Fit Group's own professional education programmes are designed to reflect and reinforce.

Looking ahead, Future Fit Group aims to become a recognised leader in age-inclusive employment across the health, fitness and wellbeing sector, demonstrating that organisations committed to healthy ageing must also champion the older workers who help make that vision a reality.

"Many companies talk of a partnership approach but not that many actually deliver and walk the walk. Future Fit has exceeded GM Active’s expectations in this regard and as a result, together we have created some innovative and groundbreaking programmes.

"Their L&D expertise is second to none and their technical ability is inspiring. Genuine people, with a passion for the industry and a burning desire to serve the sector and contribute.
