PRESS RELEASE
From the gym floor to the classroom: Future Fit Training launches suite of teaching and assessing courses
20 Nov 2025
Teaching and Assessing at Future Fit / Future Fit
Future Fit Training, a leading UK fitness education provider with over 30 years of industry experience, is launching its Teaching and Assessing suite – a comprehensive suite of National Council for Further Education (NCFE) accredited qualifications designed to help experienced fitness professionals transition from the gym floor into teaching, assessing, and quality assurance roles.
This initiative addresses a critical need within the fitness industry: providing experienced Personal Trainers, coaches, and gym managers facing burnout or seeking career flexibility with a clear route into sustainable, less physically demanding roles. The qualifications enable professionals to leverage their hard-earned expertise while shaping the future of the fitness industry by teaching and assessing the next generation of trainers.
Each course features flexible blended delivery combining e-learning modules, practical workshops, and shadowing opportunities, allowing fitness professionals to study around their existing training schedules without losing client income. Successful graduates will have the opportunity to join Future Fit's tutor and assessor team, as well as work with training providers across the UK.
"For over three decades, we've helped fitness professionals take their first steps into the industry. Now, with our School of Education, we're creating a clear pathway for experienced trainers to transition into teaching roles, turning their expertise into lasting impact for the next wave of health and fitness professionals. This isn't just about career progression; it's about sustainability, flexibility, and ensuring the next generation learns from the best. We're proud to offer qualifications that are truly built by the industry, for the industry." - Hazel Goudie, Head of Teaching & Learning, Future Fit Training.
The fitness industry has long faced challenges with career sustainability, with many Personal Trainers experiencing physical burnout from the demanding nature of client-facing work. Industry research consistently shows that experienced fitness professionals seek career progression opportunities beyond direct coaching roles, yet formal pathways into education have remained limited and often inaccessible.
The Teaching and Assessing Suite directly addresses this gap by offering industry-specific teaching qualifications co-developed with active tutors, assessors, and training providers. Unlike generic education training courses, these qualifications are built specifically for fitness professionals, ensuring relevance to the day-to-day realities of vocational fitness education.
With the fitness sector continuing to grow and demand for qualified instructors remaining high, the need for skilled, qualified educators and assessors has never been greater. Future Fit's School of Education positions experienced professionals to meet this demand while building sustainable, flexible careers.
The Teaching and Assessing Suite launches in November 2025 with two Level 3 qualifications priced at £399 each: the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, and the Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement. A Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance will follow in February 2026, completing a stackable career pathway from coach to internal verifier.
This represents a natural evolution of Future Fit's mission, extending career support beyond initial qualification into long-term professional development. By offering a complete pathway from active trainer to qualified educator, Future Fit is addressing a significant industry need while ensuring the next generation of fitness professionals receives high-quality training from experienced practitioners.
Could your expertise inspire the next generation of fitness professionals? Find out how our teaching and assessing qualifications can help you build a sustainable career in fitness education.
