PRESS RELEASE
Future Fit Training launches professional development courses with management & leadership qualifications for fitness industry
26 Aug 2025
Management and leadership qualifications for the Fitness Industry / Future Fit
Building on the success of their proven business-to-business training, Future Fit Training is now making these industry-tested qualifications accessible to individual consumers for the first time.
Addressing Industry-Specific Leadership Challenges
Available initially at Level 3 with Level 5 courses launching in Early 2026, these courses are designed to meet the unique demands of the fitness industry. They have been developed with Active IQ and delivered by Future Fit, the most trusted names in fitness education. Already trusted by leading organisations such as GM Active, these courses are now available directly to individuals for the first time.
Unlike generic leadership training, these courses address the specific environments, challenges, and opportunities fitness, health and leisure professionals face, from managing teams to running multi-site operations.
“We recognised that talented fitness professionals were looking for more diversity and progression into leadership roles in their careers, but many were hitting a barrier as they didn't have the formal leadership qualifications that employers and clients expect at senior levels. These qualifications give our learners the confidence to step into management roles and a clear pathway for career advancement. When you combine real-world fitness experience with formal leadership training, you create professionals who can truly drive the industry forward.” - Hazel Goudie, Head of Teaching and Learning, Future Fit Training.
Meeting Growing Market Demand
The launch comes in response to rising demand for leadership development in the UK fitness sector. Market interest for "management and leadership courses" has increased year-on-year, reflecting professionals' need for formal leadership training to advance their careers.
The growing demand for leadership training isn't just a trend - it's backed by solid results.
The Chartered Management Institute found that effective leadership can improve company performance by nearly a quarter and boost team engagement by over 30%. In an industry where keeping both your team and clients happy is essential, these improvements can make all the difference.
The courses are designed for professionals looking to progress into supervisory or management roles, as well as existing managers seeking to build confidence in leading teams. This approach recognises the entrepreneurial nature of many fitness careers and the need for accessible professional development options.
Developed in partnership with Active IQ and set to receive CIMSPA endorsement, the qualifications carry trusted industry recognition. This ensures the courses meet the highest standards for professional development in the fitness sector.
