Future Coach launches to transform sport workforce development

11 Feb 2026
Stuart Armstong announcing new venture with Future Coach / Future Fit Group

Stuart Armstrong, formerly involved with Sport England's 'Uniting the Movement' workforce initiatives, announces new venture as managing director offering workforce solutions to the sport sector.

Future Coach launches as a workforce development partner for the sport sector, integrating strategy, digital learning and training delivery under one roof, with the aim to address the pressures facing National Governing Bodies, Active Partnerships and sport organisations across the country.

Stuart has played a leading role in workforce development initiatives connected to Sport England’s Uniting the Movement strategy and has spent several years working alongside a variety of organisations across federated sport systems.

" I've seen firsthand the challenges facing sport organisations trying to develop their workforce with limited resources and fragmented systems," said Stuart Armstrong. "Future Coach exists to provide what the sector genuinely needs – a complete partner who works with you from strategy through to delivery, helping reduce costs whilst building workforces that are safe, skilled and ready for the future. I am delighted to launch Future Coach as the latest member of the Future Fit Group, bringing our wide-ranging expertise to the world of community sport."

The launch comes at a pivotal moment for sports organisations across the UK. Many are considering registration and licencing schemes to meet heightened safeguarding expectations. Sport England's agenda and federated registration requirements demand integrated systems connecting registration, vetting, learning and compliance, yet organisations consistently cite limited internal capacity and disjointed supplier relationships as barriers to progress.

Future Coach is backed by Future Fit Group's 30-plus years as a trusted solutions partner to regulated sectors, bringing proven delivery expertise now dedicated exclusively to sport. The Group has supported thousands of learners across regulated sectors, with technology platforms delivering enterprise-level capability with consumer ease of use.

Future Coach operates through a partnership-led model, providing support to National Governing Bodies, Active Partnerships, community clubs and strategic sport organisations through co-designed solutions aligned with Sport England priorities. The company works alongside organisations from strategy through to delivery, ensuring sustainable workforce transformation.

"Many companies talk of a partnership approach but not that many actually deliver and walk the walk. Future Fit has exceeded GM Active’s expectations in this regard and as a result, together we have created some innovative and groundbreaking programmes.

"Their L&D expertise is second to none and their technical ability is inspiring. Genuine people, with a passion for the industry and a burning desire to serve the sector and contribute.

A role model company for others to learn from in my opinion."
