Over £75,000 raised for Cancer Research after setting brand-new Guinness World Record

29 Oct 2024
The Cycle Against Cancer event by EC3 Relay was hosted by HAAS F1 Driver Ollie Bearman / Pulse Fitness
The Cycle Against Cancer event by EC3 Relay has made history by setting a new Guinness World Record for the 'Most participants in a static cycle relay’. Held at the iconic Leadenhall Market in London, the event saw an impressive turnout with over 560 participants cycling a minimum of 1 km each, raising more than £75,000 [and still counting] for Cancer Research UK.

The remarkable event was proudly sponsored by Pulse Fitness, which provided the state-of-the-art bikes that enabled participants to set the new record. The high-energy relay kicked off with a special appearance by HAAS F1 Driver Ollie Bearman, who not only inaugurated the celebrations but also took part in the cycling challenge.

"This achievement is a testament to the incredible community spirit and dedication of everyone involved," said Matt Field at EC3 Relay. "We are thrilled to have set a new world record while supporting such a vital cause. The funds raised will make a significant impact on cancer research and support for those affected by the disease."

Chris Johnson, Managing Director at Pulse Fitness, added: “We are incredibly proud to have been a part of the EC3 Relay and to support such an important cause. Providing the bikes for this record-breaking event was a natural fit for us, as we believe in the power of fitness to bring people together and make a positive impact. Seeing over 560 participants come together to raise over £75,000 for Cancer Research UK was truly inspiring. This event not only showcased the strength of community spirit but also the potential for fitness to drive meaningful change."

The success of the EC3 Relay is a shining example of how collective effort and community engagement can lead to extraordinary achievements. With the funds raised still growing, the event's impact continues to ripple out, inspiring further contributions and support for Cancer Research UK.
