press release: Pulse Fitness
Pulse Fitness’ Trakk ecosystem supports Walsall Leisure in driving community engagement and delivering measurable ROI
Pulse Fitness’ digital solution, Trakk, is helping Walsall Council transform community health engagement into measurable outcomes by combining body composition tracking with targeted physical activity interventions.
Working across Oak Park and Bloxwich Leisure Centres, Pulse Fitness and Walsall Council focused on engaging residents and local businesses across the borough through a structured outreach programme. Community members were invited to attend body composition assessments using Tanita technology, before being onboarded onto Trakk for ongoing support and progress tracking.
Each participant received a personalised consultation, including Trakk app onboarding, a full body composition analysis, an explanation of results, and tailored activity recommendations. Users were then encouraged to return for follow-up sessions, supported by access to facilities, repeat body composition measurements, and continued engagement through the Trakk platform.
The programme successfully removed common barriers to exercise by bringing services directly into community settings, making it easier for individuals to take the first step towards improving their health.
Over 12 months, the combination of digital onboarding and in-person support engaged more than 1,600 non-members from the local community. Of these, 256 individuals converted into paying members, with an average retention of 6-8 months. This demonstrates the effectiveness of combining digital engagement with in-person support and delivers a clear return on investment.
Alongside strong commercial results, the programme delivered significant health improvements. Data from a sample of 181 participants who completed multiple assessments showed that 82.3% achieved at least one of six positive health improvements, while 94% recorded either positive or stable outcomes.
More than half of participants improved their BMI. Notably, many who gained weight did so through increased muscle mass, highlighting the importance of focusing on overall body composition rather than weight alone.
Participants also achieved multiple improvements across key health metrics, underlining the effectiveness of a joined-up approach that combines data, guidance, and ongoing engagement.
“Walsall’s approach shows how powerful it can be to combine a precision body composition analyser with a digital onboarding application and real-world community engagement,” says Dominik Rzadowski, UK digital sales specialist at Pulse Fitness. “By using the Trakk digital solution, integrated with Tanita body composition analysers, to capture data, guide users, and maintain ongoing interaction, they’ve created a seamless journey from initial contact through to long-term behaviour change. The result is not only improved health outcomes, but also a clear and measurable return on investment.”
By integrating Trakk into its outreach strategy, Walsall Council has created a scalable model that connects digital tools with real-world engagement. The result is a seamless user journey that supports both individual wellbeing and facility growth.
