Slovenian basketball star to open health club

Slovenia’s most famous basketball player, Jure Zdovc – who won Olympic silver in 1988 as well as World, European and Euroleague titles – will open his first health and fitness club in Slovenia this month.
The 400sq m (4,300sq ft) club cost 400,000 euro (US$507,000, £270,000) to build.
Facilities include a 120sq m (1,300sq ft) fitness suite, an aerobics studio and a wellness centre.
The club is the first in Slovenia to be equipped with the full range of Precor equipment, including the Experience CV series with personal viewing screens.
The Herkul club, named after the Greek hero Hercules, has Greek-inspired interior décor, with Greek artwork, sculptures and natural building materials used throughout.
Zdovc made the decision to enter the fitness industry after a spinal injury ended his professional basketball career in 2005.
