Rugby League World Cup funding secured
The All-Party Parliamentary Rugby League Group has revealed that the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) will help fund the 2013 Rugby League World Cup.
Fears had been raised that the NWDA would withdraw support, following the government's decision to close regional development agencies and call for the bodies to reduce spending. Matches during the 2013 Rugby League World Cup are due to be held across England and Wales, with several scheduled for venues in the north west.
Group vice-chair Greg Mulholland MP said: "Members of the group, led by those in the north west, have led the charge in what has been an excellent demonstration of the group working together."
