Newark & Sherwood District council partners with Life Fitness as part of a £10m investment
State-of-the-art Life Fitness equipment has been installed at four leisure, sports and fitness centres operated by Active4Today and Southwell Leisure Trust on behalf of Newark & Sherwood District Council and as part of £10m investment by the Nottinghamshire local authority.
The new Newark Sports & Fitness Centre, which opened on the 25th April 2016, has replaced the Grove Leisure Centre which was built in 1968.
Life Fitness has provided a 160 station fitness suite featuring high quality cardio equipment including the Elevation Series Discover SE™ Treadmill and FlexStrider Variable-Stride Trainer, Integrity™ Series PowerMill Climber and Elliptical Cross-Trainer with Discover SE and Lifecycle GX™ Group Exercise Bike.
At the heart of the fitness suite, members can train independently or take part in high intensity small group training programmes using the modular Life Fitness SYNRGY360XL training system.
Premium Life Fitness cardio and strength equipment is also being rolled out to Active4Today’s fitness suites at Dukeries and Blidworth leisure centres, along with Southwell Leisure Centre Trust’s gym over the coming months.
All facilities benefit from the installation of SYNRGY360T, which provides two unique training spaces and includes a power pivot, stall bars and battle rope.
To support the growing number of members leading active and healthy ageing lifestyles, the leisure centres will also offer SCIFIT equipment which has been designed to address the needs of active seniors and patients undergoing rehabilitation.
