March reopening for fire-damaged leisure centre?
Wiltshire Council has confirmed that areas of a Wootton Bassett leisure centre not directly damaged by a fire in December could be reopen by the end of March.
The council is working in partnership with operator DC Leisure to bring Lime Kiln Leisure Centre back into use and is to commence the first phase of refurbishment work. Areas of the building that were not directly damaged in the blaze - including the sports hall, the fitness room and the squash courts - will be the focus of stage one.
However, the council said there had been "considerable damage" to heating and electrical systems, which will be the first priority.
