An independently-owned health club
that has recently opened in Ciudad
Quesada on Spain’s Costa Blanca aims
to target local residents, Scandinavian
expatriates and holidaymakers.
Howard’s Health & Fitness will
include a gym, fitness studio, spa pool,
sauna and steamroom.
Flexible membership options will range from
pay as you go passes to annual
memberships to cater for occasional
tourists, as well as permanent, winter
and weekend residents.
The club will use Checkfree’s webbased
club management software for
fee collections, payment processing,
membership renewals, electronic
booking of activities and marketing.
The system is hosted by a central server
managed by Checkfree, but managed
locally by club owner Kelvin Howard.
This enables Howard to access
details on everything from daily footfall
to staff schedules. “The data will
provide insight into how we can better
meet our members’ needs,” he says.
