About us
Founded in 1957 in Halmstad, Sweden, Eleiko transformed strength training by introducing the first barbell to last an entire competition at the 1963 World Weightlifting Championships in Stockholm. More than six decades and 1,000 world records later, Eleiko remains the choice of champions and passionate lifters around the world.

Still family-owned and now led by the second generation of the Blomberg family, Eleiko continues to innovate and craft world-class strength equipment designed to help people perform better — in sport and in life.

With over 65 years of expertise, we design and manufacture precision-crafted strength products trusted by the world’s top competitions, training facilities, and home gyms. Certified by the International Weightlifting Federation, the International Powerlifting Federation, and World Para Powerlifting, our equipment is used in over 180 countries to support athletes, coaches, and fitness professionals with products made for a lifetime of lifting.

Headquartered in Halmstad and backed by a global team of 200, Eleiko is committed to raising the bar for quality, performance, and service. Everything we do is guided by our belief that strength is essential to living life to the fullest.

case study: Well-Come Fitness, Denmark
Well-Come Fitness set out to become one of the world’s most exclusive membership gyms by maintaining the highest standards in every aspect of their operation—from training programs to member experience.

A key objective for Well-Come was to modernize their strength space, attracting a younger, dynamic audience while reinforcing their premium, professional image. They envisioned a seamless blend of aesthetic appeal, superior performance, and sustainability—all while optimizing their facility’s footprint to ensure maximum impact.

“Eleiko was the natural choice for us, given the synergy between our brands and our shared commitment to excellence and sustainability. Their equipment has enhanced both the functionality and aesthetics of our gym, transforming how members and trainers engage with the space. Since the upgrades, we’ve experienced a notable increase in memberships and received overwhelmingly positive feedback, particularly about the revitalized strength and functional areas.”

Eleiko delivered a complete strength solution that extended beyond premium equipment to encompass a comprehensive redesign of Well-Come’s training environment. Prestera Cable stations were installed to expand the gym’s offerings, and three Eleiko Half Racks paired with SVR platforms transformed the facility into a noise-reduced, versatile training hub.

The CrossFit room went under a significant re-design and together, we came up with a solution which both resulted in more floor space when going from a floor mounted rig to 3 different wall mounted rigs, also giving coaches more overview during classes. The wall was decorated with Eleiko branded enlightened wall posters.

These upgrades empowered trainers with greater flexibility and introduced members to advanced training opportunities—all in a premium setting designed to optimize functionality and reduce disruption.

Beyond the equipment upgrades, Eleiko worked closely with Well-Come to integrate tailored branding throughout the facility. This collaboration included digital storytelling on strategically placed signage, Eleiko-themed interior designs, and signature lighting that enhanced the atmosphere and reinforced Well-Come’s premium identity. The thoughtful blend of storytelling and design created a visually cohesive and inspiring space, elevating the overall member experience.

Since the transformation, Well-Come has not only elevated its reputation as a high-end fitness destination but also seen measurable success, with an increase in memberships and consistent positive feedback, particularly around the revitalized strength and functional areas.
case study: Virgin Active Qatar
When Virgin Active set out to open its first club in the Middle East, it wanted to do more than introduce a new fitness destination — it aimed to set a benchmark for luxury social wellness in the region. Located in Msheireb Downtown, Doha’s pioneering smart city dedicated to preserving Qatari heritage, Virgin Active Qatar was designed to blend world-class training with local cultural respect and inclusivity.

Strength and conditioning are central to Virgin Active’s philosophy, and finding the right supplier was key to delivering that vision. Niki Goldner, country director and club general manager, explains: “Choosing Eleiko for Virgin Active Qatar was an easy decision. The Prestera range is incredibly versatile, and we designed the kit to fully optimize all available space across multiple areas, including the Male Gym, Female Gym, Grid, and Lift Club.”

Dedicated male and female gym areas were required, alongside studios that could accommodate mixed training. “By offering dedicated male and female strength areas, alongside studios available for mixed training, we ensure all members can train comfortably, safely, and in the way that suits them best,” Niki continues.

At the heart of the facility is the Lift Club, Virgin Active Qatar’s signature strength and conditioning space, and a true milestone in the relationship with Eleiko. The Lift Club is the largest Virgin Active Lift Club in the world and the first Virgin Active facility in the Middle East to feature Eleiko equipment as the foundation of its strength offering. The space hosts both structured classes and open personal training sessions, with capacity for up to ten simultaneous PT sessions. A cable-mounted rig with integrated Virgin-branded storage maximises functionality and space efficiency across all strength zones.

Eleiko worked closely with Virgin Active to deliver a comprehensive strength solution across the Male Gym, Female Gym, and Grid studio as well. Every element combined an array of strength equipment with education-led programming to help members lift safely, train with intention, and achieve measurable progress.

The result is a premium, purposeful training environment where members can build strength safely and effectively. Structured programming — including endurance, hypertrophy, strength, and testing cycles — encourages progression and confidence under the bar. “Eleiko is truly paving the way in the strength and conditioning pillar, and we are proud to have your kit as the foundation of our strength offering,” Niki says. “The quality, durability, and thoughtful design of your equipment allow us to create a premium, results-driven experience that we hope will define future clubs in the region.”

The Qatar opening builds on a long-standing relationship between Virgin Active and Eleiko, with clubs in the UK, Italy, South Africa, Australia, Thailand, Singapore and now Qatar. Together, they are shaping the future of strength and conditioning, creating spaces that combine precision engineering, purposeful programming, and inclusive design to inspire people to perform at their best.

case study: Greenville University, USA
Greenville University set out to create one of the nation’s premier weight rooms, designed to serve students, staff, and faculty. With the university’s expanding student-athlete population and campus growth, they required a facility capable of supporting diverse strength training needs while inspiring performance across the entire university. The challenge was to transform a bare space into a state-of-the-art sports performance center that would support collegiate athletics and a wide range of strength-focused programs. The project demanded durability, safety, long-term reliability, and completion within a year. Eleiko partnered with the university to deliver a comprehensive, customized strength solution, including equipment, flooring, and storage. Custom-branded Prestera racks were designed to create versatile, multi-purpose training stations, maximizing space and supporting sport-specific programs. The layout prioritized functionality, offering distinct zones for cardio, free weights, cables, and turf training while providing clear sightlines for coach-led sessions. Importantly, Eleiko ensured that safety was a key design consideration, recognizing that the facility would be used by both experienced athletes and individuals just beginning their strength training journey. To optimize the space, Eleiko designed custom storage units around structural columns, transforming otherwise unused areas into practical storage solutions. Greenville_P1294827.jpg Commenting on the new Greenville weight room, Scott Voyles, Head Strength & Conditioning for Greenville said: “With our growing number of student-athletes and recent expansion, we needed top-quality equipment to support all types of training, especially strength-focused programs. Eleiko’s unmatched customer service and high-quality products made the experience seamless, offering a safer, more reliable ROI than competitors. Their collaboration allowed us to maximize space with custom solutions, like the versatile lever arms, which have greatly impacted our training outcomes. The new facility has reinvigorated our athletic community, and even though weightlifting isn’t mandatory at a division 3 university, our athletes are eager to show up and improve. The equipment, especially the lever arms, has also impressed recruits, making our weight room a key asset in attracting top talent.” Greenville’s partnership with Eleiko is set to grow as the university launches its Powerlifting program in 2025. As the official equipment provider for the International Powerlifting Federation, Eleiko ensures that Greenville athletes train with the same world-class equipment used in competitions, giving them a competitive edge for the national and international stage.
