Hot summer nights at Melbourne's Luna Park
With the evenings getting warmer, love is in the air, and Melbourne's Luna Park is extending weekend opening times right through to April.
On Friday and Saturday nights, the park is now open until 11pm. Evening sessions will also run on Thursdays and Sundays throughout January and February.
Luna Park is not just a daytime entertainment hot-spot for kids. Since the fun park opened in 1912, Luna Park has been Melbourne's favourite entertainment destination for young adults wanting to get closer to a special somebody, away from the watchful eye of their parents.
Before the arrival of nightclubs and easy access to private cars, where else but the Scenic Railway or the Ghost Train could a young man put his arm around his sweetheart as she clings to him in an elated mixture of laughter and terror?
Over the decades, the exciting atmosphere of Luna Park has not changed. It always looks its very best as the sun sets behind the palm trees and thousands of sparkling light bulbs transform the park into a romantic wonderland. For today's young 'hopeless romantics' wanting to discover how their parents, grand-parents and even great grand-parents probably got it together, it's time to rediscover Luna Park after dark.
At AUD$39,95, an adult Unlimited Ride Ticket offers exceptional entertainment value, allowing you to ride on all the rides as many times as you like for four hours on Friday nights and even longer on Saturdays.
Treat your loved one with a romantic trip on the Scenic Railway, the Carousel and the Sky Rider, or get their heart started with a ride on the Pharaoh's Curse, the Twin Dragon and the Enterprise.
