Active IQ is the UK’s leading Ofqual-recognised Awarding Organisation for the Physical Activity sector. Committed to providing first class qualifications, services and resources valued by training providers, employers and students, we offer over 100 accredited qualifications in a variety of disciplines from Entry Level to Level 5.

Within the apprenticeship sector, Active IQ offers 15 End-point Assessments across the leisure, education, facilities management and community sectors.

One of the first approved End-point Assessment Organisations, our experienced assessors and knowledgeable apprenticeship team combine to successfully support apprentices, employers and training delivery teams to achieve the best outcomes.

Active IQ has evolved to become an awarding organisation with a difference. As well as offering qualifications across the Physical Activity sector, Business & Administration, Customer Service and Functional Skills, we offer a highly diverse portfolio of additional products and services including:

• Skills Hub – providing comprehensive additional support to both Active IQ approved centres and their learners, with access to an exciting range of interactive educational webinars, CPD and resources in a variety of subject areas.

• Professional Career Development – enables individuals to progress to the next stage of their career with the leading specialist awarding organisation for the active leisure sector. PCD provides an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills to qualify as a tutor, assessor or internal verifier and to gain understanding of external quality assurance.

• Professional Recognition – a ‘kitemark’ which encourages training centres to reach high standards

• End-point Assessment - we offer End-point Assessment services for 15 apprenticeship standards with more in the pipeline. Active IQ was one of the first End-point Assessment Organisations (EPAOs) to join the register: our assessors and apprenticeship team offer an exceptionally knowledgeable, robust support service that helps achieve the best outcomes for customers. Our EPA services include a vast number of support resources for the delivery team as well as their apprentices.

In addition, Active IQ supports a range of learning development initiatives, awards and events from the Active Uprising, Community Sport & Recreation Alliance and Association of Colleges awards to sponsoring the return to work programme developed by Excelsior. Finally, we are proud to be a founding partner of the hugely successful #DoingOurBit platform that has seen the fitness industry create and provide a free fitness platform for all NHS staff, responding to their physical and mental health needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Plans for the next 12 months
This year will see a whole range of refreshed qualifications being launched. We have just launched a new partnership with the AOC which will see us working much more closely with the AOC over the next three years to support students and colleges. Active IQ is making excellent progress in its overseas training and development markets including success in Saudi Arabia, Dubai and the Far East. We are also working on new EPA Standards to be launched in 2021.
