Glasgow has submitted its bid to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
In an effort to win the battle against rival host nation Abuja in Nigeria, the Glasgow team has made personal presentations to 69 of the Commonwealth’s 71 members.
The tender is thought to have cost around £288m, with the Scottish Executive funding 80 per cent and Glasgow City Council the remaining 20 per cent.
The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) will announce the winning city at their General Assembly in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on 9 November.
