Free leisure planned for armed forces
Soldiers who serve or have served in the armed forces could be given free access to leisure facilities under proposals considered by the Wirral council.
A notice of motion, forwarded by the council’s Conservative group leader, councillor Jeff Green, calls for free access to be introduced as a “gesture of gratitude”.
If the motion secures the support of other parties, it could grant soldiers and their direct family with free access to the borough’s leisure facilities and services.
