The first Gold’s Gym site to be located outside London opened its doors in Bedford earlier this month.
Owned and operated by franchisee Carlo Noto, the 7,5000sq ft club has been fitted with equipment supplied by Life Fitness with 70 per cent of floor space dedicated to strength training.
The extensive plate-loaded areas are complemented by three cv areas, a large free-weights area and group exercise studios.
Each changing room at the club, which is located in a former warehouse, has also been fitted with sauna areas and there are plans to add a sport massage facility.
According to Noto, the club already has 1,000 members and the target is to double that figure by the end of the year.
Noto also has plans to open a second Gold’s Gym site in the near future.
“I’ve been a fan of the Gold’s Gym brand ever since I used to live in Los Angeles,” he said. “So much so that I’ve now secured the franchise for a second site in Milton Keynes."
