Fairmont appoints new vice-president to oversee Middle East expansion

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of John Johnston to the newly created position of executive vice president of Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Johnson will oversee the brand’s current and future developments as well as being responsible for the day to day operations of Fairmont properties within the region.
The creation of the role comes as Fairmont expands its presence in the Middle East – with recent announcements that the company is to manage three new resort developments including The Fairmont Cairo, Nile City, The Fairmont Palm Hotel & Resort in Dubai and The Fairmont Abu Dhabi Resort & Villas. All three properties are scheduled to open in 2006.
