New management team at Energie Fitness reveals refreshed brand identity and strategy
Energie Fitness has refreshed its brand identity as part of a broader overhaul that will include the addition of a new proprietary small group training concept.
Members will also have access to services to support them outside the gym via a new app which will offer digital tools and wellbeing-focused content.
The updates follow a period of change under the leadership of CEO Jon Cottam, which has seen the installation of a new management team. “This is about much more than a logo,” says Cottam. “We're evolving as a brand, investing in people, product, digital and wellbeing, while staying true to what has always mattered most to us: creating compelling, community-centric environments where everyone feels they belong.
“Across our network, we'll continue to prioritise local engagement and inclusive offerings, delivered by supportive teams who understand the diverse communities they serve, at a price that makes sense.”
The updated brand identity will begin rolling out across Energie Fitness clubs, digital platforms, and marketing channels over the coming months.
There are currently 66 clubs open in the portfolio across the UK, Ireland and 11 in Spain, where master franchisor, Rod Hill is building a portfolio of clubs under the Fit Brands International banner.
Energie Fitness, which was founded by the late Jan Spaticchia in 2003, is curently backed by RM Funds.
The company had 100 locations in 2019 when it was sold to Bridges Fund Management, but the pandemic took a heavy toll and by June 2020, Spaticchia had taken the company back via a CVA to found Empowered Brands.
At the time, this portfolio also included boutique operator, Victus Soul; HIIT concept, thé Yard and Raw – a 'digitally-enabled' boutique studio. Spaticchia died in May 2021.
Empowered Brands took on the master franchise for UBX in 2021 and Fit+ in May 2024 under previous leadership.
The company shows Energie Fitness, UBX and Fit+ as its current brands. In addition to the Energie Fitness portfolio there are eight UBX clubs in the UK, while Fit+ has yet to launch a site.
