Council unveils new Nottingham play area
A new play area is due to be officially unveiled today (4 August) at Victoria Embankment, Nottingham, which has already benefited from £82,500 of investment.
Old pieces of equipment have been removed as part of the first phase of the play area development, along with the installation of an accessible roundabout, a cable way, a metro whirl and a climbing piece. Stages two and three will include the provision of additional equipment - such as a basket swing and a bespoke play bridge - and the planting of wildflower meadow areas.
Nottingham City Council portfolio holder for children's services David Mellen said: "The opening of phase one of the new play area is the first step to providing a fantastic new space for children to play. Local people and groups have been involved in the consultation right from the start so the park has been designed with them in mind. "We hope the whole community can benefit from the new equipment and that they will look forward to the next phase of the project."
