About Technogym
Nerio Alessandri founded Technogym, combining his passion for technology (TECHNO) and for sports (GYM). He designed and built his first machine at the age of 22 and introduced the concept of Wellness for the first time in history, sparking a change from an industry driven by self-indulgence towards physical exercise as a source of health both for the body and the mind. Technology became the driver of a historic shift towards a conscious approach to movement.

Key products and services
Technogym offers a complete ecosystem of connected smart equipment, digital services, on-demand training experiences and apps that allow every single end-user to access a completely personalized training experience anytime and anywhere: at home, at the gym, on-the-go.

More than 50 million people train with Technogym in 80,000 wellness centres and 500,000 private homes world-wide.

case study: Clare Stobart, Founder of CPASE
When Clare Stobart was developing the concept for her boutique health club, she had a strong guiding vision: to provide the best member experience of any boutique club in the UK.

The result is CPASE (Clare’s Space Boutique Health Club – pronounced ‘space’), an adult-only, five-star boutique health club in the Cheshire countryside, which opened on 1 October.

The club, which features pumped oxygen-enriched air, has a 500sq m gym, studios, a spa and casual dining offerings, as well as a crane and tube slide for interval training with a twist.

The club has a functional training area, cardio zone, free weight and dedicated strength space, as well as a dedicated female training zone, while a team of PTs offer one-to-one training and meal planning.

The gym floor is equipped with strength and cardio kit from Technogym’s Artis range which integrates with the Mywellness app, so members can access personalised training programmes, move freely between equipment and track and log their workout data using the Mywellness Band.

“For members, this set-up provides everything in one place – from class bookings and challenges in the gym, to programmes to follow, says Stobart. “For our team, the platform pairs with the equipment on the gym floor and in our studios, and enables members to access our facilities through the speed lane, access lockers and use the Tanita body analysis machine.

“It also helps us see how members are using the club and gives us data so we can personalise their experience even further,” she explains.

case study: World Class
As University of Stirling’s vice chancellor, Professor Sir Gerry McCormac says: “sport is part of the university’s DNA”. When the university invested in a £20m upgrade of its sport and fitness facilities, the vision was clear: to engage as many students, staff, and members of the community as possible in sport and physical activity at the level of their choosing.

Cathy Gallagher, executive director of sport, tells us how the new facilities are communicating the university’s ambition within the 335 acre campus and beyond.

“We always want to set standards,” she says. “After winning UK Sports University of the Year in 2020, we didn’t rest on our laurels – our investment in new facilities shows our commitment to performance sport and physical wellbeing.”

University of Stirling is one of the first higher education settings in the UK to invest in Technogym’s Excite Live line.

“This amazing kit blows my mind!” says Gallagher. “It offers phenomenal technological advancements, with beautiful architecture and aesthetics and the kit is very slimline, helping us make better use of space and cater for more members.”

Technogym Excite Live helps the university deliver on its ambition to engage more of its student population.

“Excite Live’s level of sophistication and functionality aligns with the language we use in programme development and delivery,” says Gallagher. “We knew it would help us get more students physically active.”

University of Stirling made the decision to add Technogym Skill Line classes to the gym floor, including Skillbike class, Skillrow class, and Skillrun class.

“We know digital will engage people, but we never want to lose the human aspect of the gym,” explains Gallagher. “Skill Line classes create a buzz on the gym floor. It’s a different dynamic, which engages more people in a new way. Technogym helped us with programming and staff training, so we can offer a compelling member experience.”

“Our goal is to keep people coming back and Technogym’s kit is key to this engagement,” says Gallagher. “People can access their own coach and programming through the equipment, get extra content, and enjoy the benefits of a community.”

case study: Eden One in Dublin
At the end of 2018, I was standing outside Number One Ballsbridge in Dublin,” explains industry veteran Charlie Bourne. “The venue was already home to high-end apartments, retail and businesses. It took me less than 30 seconds to agree to develop a health club. I wanted to do something different and create a first – not just in Ireland but anywhere.”

Eden One has 7,500sq ft of gym space, with Technogym cardio and resistance kit, including Artis and Skill Line.

“The gym is equipped so people have a complete choice of workout equipment,” says Bourne. “The gym floor has also been designed so our trainers can host small group classes.”

Connectivity via Technogym’s mywellness cloud means Eden One can take a member from biometric testing to programming and PT in one seamless journey.

“The mywellness app is a useful tool for providing a seamless member journey with valuable extras,” explains Bourne. “We can run everything from onboarding to assessment and programming via the app, and we’d eventually like 100 per cent member uptake of the technology.”

“The Technogym brand is very design-led, so the aesthetic fits with our vision,” says Bourne. “The kit is innovative, while also being intuitive enough to be used by complete beginners. We’re delighted to have wall-to-wall Technogym equipment on our gym floor and in all our studios.”

The Giro d’Italia partners with Technogym for the first indoor cycling jersey
Here’s the first Giro d’Italia indoor jersey, which has been conceived thanks to the collaboration between Technogym and Castelli, both partners of Giro d’Italia Virtual.

The Giro d’Italia Virtual is and indoor cycling project, developed by RCS Sport – a sport and media company organising some of Italy's biggest sporting events – and BKOOL, an indoor cycling simulator. Thanks to Technogym MyCycling and all the connected professional indoor bikes by Technogym, this project allows cycling enthusiasts to digitally experience first-hand the various stages of the Giro 2021. Through a digital platform developed by BKOOL – compatible with Technogym Ecosystem – cycling lovers will get the chance to live a mixture of 3D simulation, real-life videos and riding to reach the best-quality and most accurate experience for every stage of the Giro.

The Giro d’Italia Virtual is composed of three different phases: Grande Partenza (Big Start) – Part 1 (from October 15 to January 2), Grande Partenza – Part 2 (from January 14 to April 3) and Grande Arrivo (Big Arrival; from May 6 to May 29). This last step will take place at the same time with the Giro d’Italia 2022.

Cycling experts choose Technogym both for its MyCycling – the indoor smart trainer to be used on one’s own bike – and for Skillbike, the first indoor bike featuring real gear shifting.

MyCycling has revolutionised professional cyclists’ indoor training thanks to its TNT system – Technogym Neuromuscular Training – and it was born from the collaboration between Technogym’s R&D department and the world’s best trainers, physiologists and fitness coaches. MyCycling offers a complete indoor training option aimed at enhancing metabolic and neuromuscular functions.

Skillbike – created thanks to Technogym’s experience with Olympic athletes – improves strength and endurance, and maximizes efficiency through training routines based on power and workout sessions including uphill simulations; it enhances performances in a new, functional and engaging way.

ABOUT THE JERSEY

This exclusive jersey was realized keeping the rigors of indoor training in mind. The 3D-Mesh fabric allows best air breathability to keep you cool, while the 100%-polyester interior part ensures maximum absorption and dispersion of sweat.

The jersey is not too transparent, so it can be worn for group training, too. When used at home, it’s easy to take it off thanks to the long zipper. It includes a couple of back pockets for AirPods, mobile, headband or whatever else you use during your workout. The low collar and short waistline ensure maximum breathability. It can serve as a great jersey option for bike rides on hot summer days.
