Level Up 2025: Your Personal Training celebrates a record year for PT development

09 Dec 2025
Level Up Sheffield / Your Personal Training

Your Personal Training (YPT) has closed out 2025 with its third annual Level Up event, marking another milestone in its mission to elevate standards in the personal training industry. Across 2025, more than 1,000 personal trainers attended the events, participating in workshops, masterclasses and networking sessions designed to empower trainers at every stage of their careers.

Level Up, YPT’s proprietary development initiative, is a free, accessible event open to all PTs that brings together trainers from across the UK to learn, connect and grow. Built on the belief that PTs are the heartbeat of the fitness industry, Level Up creates an environment where trainers can immerse themselves fully in learning; sharing ideas, exploring best practices and networking beyond their usual gym walls. Feedback from attendees has been consistently strong, demonstrating the real-world impact Level Up events have on career development and business growth.

Phil Learney, leading performance coach and educator, commented, “To come to an event like this, it’s refreshing to see the fundamentals being covered, the things every coach and trainer should know, but often don’t. The sessions on acquisition and retention, along with my own, linked really nicely, and you could see the audience actively engaging and thinking, ‘Okay, I get that.’ Personal training is an interesting industry with so many rabbit holes you can go down, and sometimes we just need to focus on the areas we do well and refine them. It was nice to see the content brought together in a sensible way, with relevant speakers and practical information. The value of that education for coaches is huge.”

Across the 2025 series, attendees benefited from a powerhouse line-up of industry experts, including Oliver Patrick, Keith Smith, Phil Learney, Keith Smith, Dan Richardson and Jayne Lo, with sessions covering everything from lead generation and client retention to becoming the ‘Go-To PT’ in your gym and community.

The programme also showcased YPT’s collaborative approach to professional development, with events delivered in partnership with leading organisations such as PerformX and Everyone Active, combining expertise and resources to create truly high-value experiences for attendees.

The series culminated at the Independent Gyms Conference, where PTs immersed themselves in a two-day programme of high-impact learning, featuring insights into innovative coaching techniques and data-driven performance assessment.

James Lorey, Co-Founder and Director at Your Personal Training, reflected on the year: "Level Up continues to bridge the gap between PTs and gym operators, providing a space for collaboration, learning, and professional growth. This year, seeing thousands of trainers come together to share knowledge, gain insights and take their careers to the next level has been incredibly inspiring."

Level Up has become a benchmark for professional development in the fitness industry, reinforcing YPT’s commitment to accessible, community-led education. By bringing together expert educators, leading brands and ambitious personal trainers, the series supports PTs in progressing their careers, broaden their expertise and gain confidence in growing their businesses.

By fostering this collaborative and immersive environment, YPT is paving the way for a new standard of PT education, ensuring trainers are equipped with the tools, strategies and insights needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive and evolving sector.

As the series looks ahead to 2026, YPT remains focused on empowering PTs at every level, with four major Level Up events already planned to help trainers elevate their careers, enhance client outcomes and strengthen the fitness community as a whole.
