Yellow Kite offers new lease of life for Southsea Castle
Social enterprise Yellow Kite has reached agreement with Portsmouth City Council (PCC) to give Southsea Castle a new lease of life.
The historic attraction is to boast a bespoke events marquee, a brides' room for weddings and a courtyard garden as part of a planned refurbishment. A 10-year lease has been agreed between Yellow Kite and PCC, which will also include new kitchen facilities for the social enterprise to base its flagship café at Southsea Castle.
PCC head of culture Stephen Baily said: "This partnership means that people will be able to visit one of Portsmouth's leading attractions for free and also enjoy the tasty food on offer at the new Yellow Kite Café."
