Work begins at Next Generation Swindon
Next Generation Clubs has just announced the commencement of a £12m project at Kembrey Park, Swindon, due for completion in summer 2007.
The new 11,150sq m (120,000sq ft) club will act as a centre for tennis excellence, offering extensive tennis facilities for all age groups and abilities, including six indoor and five outdoor courts.
Other facilities will include three squash courts, two five-a-side football pitches, a large gym supplied by Life Fitness, a children’s ‘NGKids’ gym, two aerobics studios, indoor and outdoor pools, a one-on-one outdoor basketball court, and a steamroom and sauna.
Leisure facilities will include a restaurant, crèche, cinema, and outdoor terrace and gardens.
Kembrey Park will be the fourth Next Generation club to open in the space of two and a half years, and will create more than 100 new jobs. It will have the capacity for over 5,000 members.
Managing director Scott Lloyd, son of tennis entrepreneur David Lloyd, said: “The area has been crying out for a top quality racquets and fitness venue for some time now. I’ve no doubt that the Next Generation club will quickly be established as the definitive, premier racquets club in Wiltshire.”
