Up your ‘data game’ to successfully relaunch your fitness business

Becoming a data-driven business should be simple, hassle-free and affordable; all it takes is getting the right software solution in place.
– Andy Hall

Data-driven businesses are some of today’s greatest global success stories, providing blueprints for success.

You may have found traditional data solutions expensive and complicated, however, with the right systems in operation, data could be helping you make the right decisions at the right times, allowing automated actions to increase conversion rates and drive sales and efficiencies, leading to successful commercial outcomes.

Volution, the data specialist, offers bespoke, seamless integration into existing systems and programmes, to enable gyms and fitness centres to make the most of the data they already have or indeed increase the data available to them to further engage members and drive business results.

By streamlining and analysing data, Volution ensures it can be used to deliver commercial opportunities and ROI. Integration is fast and cost-effective.

Volution is already working with over 300 fitness centres across the globe, has 380,000 active users and is driving revenue increases and savings of over £5,500 per month per club.

“The Volution solution doesn’t require businesses to change tech platforms or providers,” says Adam Norton, founder of Volution, “but instead, we develop and integrate new and high-performing applications, to enable businesses to have greater visibility of data gained from multiple data sources, which in turn can improve business performance.

“The next four weeks are going to be critical for the health and fitness sector, particularly in the UK, where we will see facilities start to re-open,” says Norton. “The sector has a unique opportunity to start afresh and allow data and insight to shape businesses and services, enabling them to be more customer-centric, more efficient and higher-performing.”

Tracking home to club dynamics

“What’s more, we’re likely to see more members and consumers wanting at-home and digital solutions, to ease the transition back to the bricks and mortar clubs,” says Norton.

“Clubs and facilities that have the foresight and ability to track this activity will be the winners and will have a clear competitive advantage.”

Volution has been gearing up to work with operators right across the US and UK markets, with the appointment of a high profile team to lead the brand.

Matt Adey has been brought on as a non-executive director. Adey has held significant global roles within Orangetheory Fitness, as well as operators such as The Bannatyne Group and Hilton Hotels.

In addition, Andy Hall, well-known within the sector, has been appointed global sales director.

Hall has held high profile roles within Les Mills UK, as business development director and before that at Egym as regional sales manager.

Commenting on the opportunity, Hall said: “For many operators, the world of data can be a daunting and unknown space, with many misconceptions around processes, price, implementation and even capability. This leads to change-paralysis where businesses are wary of the task in front of them, which is often based on perception, not reality.

“Data needs to enable businesses to make informed decisions quickly and rationally. The Volution solution enables senior leaders within the club operator world to collate and analyse valuable information whenever they need it.

“Becoming a data-driven business shouldn’t be rocket science. It needs to be simple, hassle-free and affordable for every gym or fitness centre; all it takes is getting the right software solution in place.”
