Todt elected new motor racing chief
Jean Todt has been named as president of the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) following a vote of the organisation's General Assembly in Paris on 23 October.
Todt, a former principal of the Ferrari Formula One team, held off competition from former rally world champion Ari Vatanen to succeed Max Mosley as the head of motor racing's world governing body. A total of 135 FIA members voted for Todt, compared with just 49 for Vatanen in the vote, which also saw 12 abstentions or invalid votes.
