Tiger11 withdraws Leeds sports centre plan

Community organisation Tiger11 has withdrawn its proposals to take over the running of South Leeds Sports Centre due to a lack of funding.
The group had hoped to transfer responsibility for the venue from Leeds City Council and operate it as an independent community enterprise. However, Tiger11 has confirmed it has been unable to secure the required funding within the timescales necessary to progress the project and has now abandoned the plans.
A spokesperson for the organisation said: "We still believe that there could be a viable community business operating South Leeds Sports Centre." "While Tiger11 is not in a position to pursue the project further at the moment, we would be happy to pass on our feasibility work to another not-for-profit organisation.
