Tate Liverpool launches iPod gallery tour

Visitors to Tate Liverpool will be able to download a free multimedia tour of the Gustav Klimt exhibition to their iPods.
The tour will provide information on the artist's life and work, audio recordings and visual footage relating to the exhibition, which runs until 31 August. Visitors will be able to access the content on mobile phones and MP3 players through the gallery's Wi-Fi network, as well as by downloading the tour before visiting from the Tate's website or iTunes. There will also be a facility to hire an iPod touch at the gallery with pre-loaded content. Jane Burton, creative director of Tate Media, said: "This is an exciting moment in the evolution of museum tours. The days of traditional audio guide are numbered and we're now able to offer sophisticated multimedia content direct to visitors' own MP3 players, iPods and mobile phones."Visitors to Tate Liverpool will be able to download a free multimedia tour of the Gustav Klimt exhibition to their iPods.
