Starwood plans Four Points by Sheraton in Beijing
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide plans to build its first Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Beijing, China.
The 301-room Four Points by Sheraton Beijing, Haidian will feature three restaurants, a health club and spa with an indoor swimming pool as well as a business centre and 16,800sq ft (1,550sq m) of meeting space.
The property will form part of an integrated mixed-use complex, which will also include a shopping centre and offices.
The hotel – scheduled to open in July 2009 – will be owned by Beijing Yongtai Real Estate Development and managed by Starwood Hotels under a long-term management contract.
The Four Points by Sheraton brand was first introduced to China with the opening of Four Points by Sheraton Shenzhen in late 2004 and the subsequent opening of the first Four Points in Shanghai this year.
Four Points by Sheraton Beijing, Haidian will be the fifth Starwood property in Beijing, joining St Regis Hotel, Beijing; The Great Wall Sheraton Beijing Hotel; The Westin Beijing, Financial Street and The Westin Beijing, Chaoyang; the two Westins in Financial Street and Chaoyang are due to open in 2006 and 2008, respectively.
