The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company is set to develop a 123-bedroom hotel with private condominiums in White Plains, New York, US.
The Ritz-Carlton Westchester and The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton Westchester will be housed within two 40-storey towers. The hotel will be situated on levels 1-10, while levels 1-40 will contain 400 condominium units.
The hotel will comprise two restaurants – one rooftop – and a 10,000sq ft (930sq m) spa and fitness centre as well as a meeting and event area of the same size.
Architects Costas Kondylis and Partners of New York designed the new properties, alongside interior designer Frank Nicholson.
The first tower – comprising 32 hotel rooms and 175 condominiums – is expected to open in early 2008.
The properties will form part of a £216m (US$400m, 317m euro) project at the 940,000sq ft (87,300sq m) Renaissance Square complex, which is currently under construction by developer by Louis Cappelli.
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company operates 61 hotels worldwide. It has more than 20 projects currently under development, with hotel openings planned for Moscow, Ireland and Beijing in 2006-7. Details: www.ritzcarlton.com
