RFL reports ninth consecutive annual profit
The Rugby Football League (RFL) - English rugby league's national governing body - has reported an annual pre-tax profit for the ninth consecutive year.
Total income received by the organisation grew to a record £22.8m in 2010 - 4.1 per cent up on figures for 2009. Payments made to or on behalf of member clubs/organisations reached nearly £9m. RFL chief executive Nigel Wood said: "The tough economic climate continues to offer challenges for all sections of the game.
"But the RFL remains committed to providing the levels of support needed to ensure this great sport continues to thrive."
