STA and GreenTech announce new aquatics partnership

STA is pleased to announce a new strategic partnership with GreenTech International, bringing its Hydro Dioxide water treatment solution to the UK aquatics sector through the STA Swim Shop.

The partnership will provide swimming pool operators, swim schools and leisure facilities with access to an innovative new water treatment solution designed to tackle biofilms, improve system hygiene and help manage chlorine-resistant pathogens within pool environments.

Developed and manufactured in the UK, Hydro Dioxide uses chlorine dioxide technology to target biofilms that can develop throughout a pool's circulation system, including pipework, filters and hard-to-reach surfaces. By addressing contamination at its source, the solution can help operators enhance water quality, reduce chemical demand, improve operational efficiency, lower operating costs and support more sustainable pool management practices.

The partnership reflects STA's ongoing commitment to identifying products, services and technologies that help operators maintain safe, effective and well-managed aquatic environments.

Dave Candler, CEO at STA, said: "Swimming pool operators continue to face increasing pressures around water quality, operational efficiency, sustainability and customer expectations. As an organisation committed to supporting the aquatics sector, we are always looking for innovative solutions that can help facilities operate more effectively while maintaining the highest standards of safety and user experience.

"Hydro Dioxide offers operators a different approach to tackling some of the water quality and system hygiene challenges that can exist within swimming pools. Following extensive discussions with the GreenTech team and a review of the technology, we are delighted to become their strategic aquatics partner and make this solution available through the STA Swim Shop.

"We believe Hydro Dioxide has the potential to deliver meaningful benefits for operators and are excited to help introduce this technology to the wider aquatics community," confirmed Dave.

James Lee, managing director of GreenTech International, added: "We are delighted to be partnering with STA. Their strong connections across the aquatics sector, combined with their commitment to supporting operators through education, training and professional development, make them an ideal partner for GreenTech International.

"Hydro Dioxide has been developed to address one of the industry's most persistent and often misunderstood challenges: biofilms and the harmful bacteria and pathogens they can harbour. By targeting contamination at its source, we can help operators improve water quality, enhance operational performance, reduce chemical usage and potentially lower the ongoing costs associated with pool management and maintenance."

"Through this partnership, we're looking forward to introducing more operators to the benefits of Hydro Dioxide and supporting the sector's continued focus on safe, efficient and well-managed aquatic environments."

To mark the new partnership, STA will be hosting a one-hour webinar with GreenTech on 28th July at 11am – REGISTER HERE.

GreenTech International will also be supporting two of STA's key industry events later this year. The company has been confirmed as the Official Drinks Sponsor of the STA Aquatic Excellence Awards, taking place during the STA Conference in November, and will also be exhibiting and presenting at the 2-day conference.
