Qatar 2022 dismisses 'split games' claims
Claims that football matches at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar could be divided up into three 30-minute sections have been rejected by the tournament's organisers.
According to the BBC, Arup Associates director Michael Beaven suggested that the format of games could be altered for the tournament due to the heat levels to be faced by players. However, a Qatar 2022 spokesperson said: "Splitting the games has not been discussed at any time.
"All 64 games will be played in carbon neutral cooled stadiums in two halves of 45 minutes, as per regulations."
