New circular walk for Oxfordshire
Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) has launched a new 4-mile (6.4km) circular walk across "wildlife-rich" countryside to the east of Wallingford.
The Ewelme Park circular trail - starting in Nuffield - incorporates part of the Ridgeway National Trail and runs through an area of countryside formerly used as a royal Tudor deer park. Local landowners worked with the National Trails Team and OCC's countryside service to develop the trail, which has also included the installation of six signposts to help walkers navigate the route.
OCC field officer Jon Beale said: "Now that the necessary access and information work has been done, we are hoping that people will get out and try it this spring."
