New adiZone opens at St Albans park
St Albans City and District Council (SACDC) has opened a new 625sq m (6,727sq ft) outdoor multi-sport facility at Verulamium Park.
The installation of the adiZone, which is designed and developed by Adidas, has been funded by the council and the government's Co-location Fund. Inspired by a range of Olympic and Paralympic sports, the facility offers provision for basketball, football and tennis, as well as a climbing wall and a freestyle area.
SACDC portfolio holder for sport and leisure Anthony Rowlands said: "The adiZone outdoor gym will add a new dimension to the sporting facilities available for local young people. "Engaging in sport and physical activity is of great value. I am delighted that so many young people are set to benefit from the council successfully bidding for an adiZone."
