The Sandia Resort & Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is being transformed as part of the resort’s expansion plans to include The Green Reed Spa. Other recent enhancements have included the addition of a new casino, extra parking facilities, a golf club and a 450-person banquet and events centre.
The 228-key's property 12,000sq ft (1,115sq m) spa will feature 14 new treatment rooms and a salon when it reopens on 29 April. Local reports suggest the spa has been under construction for more than a year.
The wet zone at the spa will comprise Vichy showers, a plunge pool, saunas, steamrooms, a meditation room, plus male and female relaxation zones.
The property also hosts a 140,000sq ft (13,006sq m) casino, an 18-hole golf course and 50,000sq ft (4,645sq m) of meeting space.
