New Croxley Green play area unveiled
A new £212,000 play area has been unveiled in Croxley Green - the first site in Hertfordshire to be completed as part of the government's national Playbuilder initiative.
The Department of Children, Schools and Families has provided £52,000 towards the new Barton Way play area as part of the Playbuilder scheme, along with £140,000 from Three Rivers District Council (TRDC). Croxley Green Parish Council also contributed £20,000 to help fund the development of the play area, which boasts a range of equipment - such as a giant jungle climbing structure, swings, a sand play area, an aerial runway and a trampoline.
An adult outdoor gym has also been installed at Barton Way - the third facility of its kind in the district – following the success of similar outdoor gyms at Leavesden Country Park and the Aquadrome's Ebury Park site. TRDC leisure and community portfolio holder Chris Whately-Smith said: "As the first Playbuilder park to be launched in Hertfordshire we hope that the Barton Way play area will set a new high standard for community spaces in Three Rivers and the wider area."
