NWDA commits funding for Stanley Park
The Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) has committed £9.2m towards the regeneration scheme at Stanley Park in Liverpool.
Liverpool City Council will oversee the overhaul of the urban greenspace, including the restoration of the currently derelict Gladstone Conservatory, which will become a multi-purpose social facility incorporating an exhibition space, meeting and conference facilities and a café.
Steven Broomhead, NWDA chief executive, said: “The restoration of Gladstone Conservatory will be important in providing a facility to encourage visitors to the Anfield and Breckfield area outside of match days and we fully expect the economic, social and regeneration benefits from this to be substantial for the local community.”
